She Wears The Trousers..
If there's anyone who knows anything about clean, fluid lines and sharp silhouettes, it's the Scandivians. Tiger of Sweden (one of my favourite brands) sent this arresting monochrome look down the catwalk at their Spring/Summer 09 show. There's just so much to love here. A neat cropped black jacket teamed with a diaphanous plunging white jersey top (so Halston), worn with the shiniest, slouchiest masculine trousers (with roll ups). Space Odyssey meets school mistress grey shoes inject some prim SOFO cool into the equation. Note the total absence of accessories - this look is all about the contrast of hard and soft. Now more than ever, people want clothes that wil go the distance. This cropped jacket would work as well with a pencil or cocoon skirt as it would with jeans or an LBD. The plunging jersey top would work as well with jeans as it would with a fluid, floor-length skirt or a billowing wide-leg trouser.
